INGLESE
Alpette is a small village at the start of the Orco Valley, set 1000 m.above sea level. Its alpine climate makes it the ideal holiday destination, both for long stays and day trips: Alpette is located at the end of a winding road 10 km from Cuorgnè, 34 km from Ivrea and 51 km from Torino. The “Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso”a huge nature reserve of unspoilt beauty is close by.
In addition to several pleasant walks of varying distance (e.g: Cima Mares - 50 mins; monte Soglio - 3 hrs, 1971 m.) there are interesting places to visit, such as the parish church, the observatory and the copper-smiths training school and shop.

The Parish Church dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul has three naves. It was built in 1864 on the foundations of an earlier churc dating back to XI century..

The municipal astronomical observatory caries out scentific activities with the school of astronomy of Torino which also provides didactic support to primary and secondary schools of the region organising evening studies and educational conferences.

For the past few hears with support from the region and the province, the municipality of Alpette holds annual courses in copper-working, naturally following the age-old local tradition. The courses deal exclusively with hand made obyects as opposed to machine-made and include instructions in copper beating and relief work .
The tourist and the students can visit the laboratory, which also has an exhibition and a shop and see techniques which are rather rare.
For information on the school of copper-smiths contact the municipality of Alpette: tel. 0124/809122.
